The Pharmaceutical Industry is ever growing and has reached its peak during the COVID era. This has attracted many students to join and make their career in the field of Pharmacy. There are a large number of PCI (Pharmacy Council of India) and AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) approved institutions which offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Pharmacy. The Diploma in Pharmacy is however conducted by the State Board of Technical Education.
A student from science stream (PCM or PCB) can opt for Pharmacy. He needs to qualify the entrance Examination of the institute or University he wants to seek admission in. However, few institutes have the condition that mathematics must be a subject at secondary level. The following institutes and universities conduct entrance examinations for B. Pharmacy

After graduation, a pharmacy student can go for post graduation studies which are being offered to different disciples. These are Pharmaceutics, Pharmacognosy, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacology, Drug Regulatory Affairs, and Biotechnology.
The following institutes and universities conduct entrance examinations for M. Pharmacy. Some of the tests are conducted at National level, some at State and some at University Level. The National level test has weight age nationwide and its score and ranking is given priority in all the pharmacy Institutes.
Postgraduate Entrance Examination at National Level
GPAT Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test 2020 is an entrance exam for M. Pharmacy admission at a national level. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency or the NTA. This year, GPAT was conducted on January 28, 2020. NIPER JEE National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) conducts a joint entrance exam 2020 for seven NIPERS across country located in Mohali, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Hajipur, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Raebareli. GITAM GAT 2020 GITAM GAT 2020 is conducted by Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM). GITAM GAT 2020 which is commonly known as GITAM Graduate Aptitude Test. GITAM GAT 2020 exam is conducted for admission in M. Pharma programmes. For M. Pharma programmes, candidates who have qualified the GPAT will be exempted from the GITAM GAT 2020. The examination is a computer-based test expected to be held in April 2020. Candidates can register and apply till March 30, 2020. |
Since Diploma in Pharmacy needs approval from the State Board of technical education, its admissions are regulated by individual states and there is no common exam. In fact, some of the institutes take admission on the basis of Merit list of the applicants.
Delhi CET Delhi Common Entrance Test (CET) is a state level entrance test. This exam is conducted by the Department of Training and Technical Education, Delhi for admissions in a diploma course in Pharmacy. It is also called as Delhi Polytechnic examination. This generally takes place in the last week of May 2020. |
