BPharma — Course Structure

The course entails a total of 8 semesters in the duration of 4 years for students getting admission after 12th and 4 semesters for students getting admission through lateral entry. The course structure is worked as per the rules and regulations set by the Pharmacy Council of India as well as the AICTE. The curriculum follows a credit-based system wherein weightage to theory, practical, and classwork is distributed on a definitive number of credits. Eligibility Criteria to Pursue BPharma in India

B Pharmacy is a specialized course that only science students can opt for, which restricts the entry of students from any other background into the course. Much like any other degree, the eligibility criteria for Bachelors in Pharmacy includes the following pointers that must be taken into consideration before applying for the degree.

  • The candidate must have passed his/her 12th or 10+2 equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 45% to 50% from a recognised board of education. For reserved category students, there is 5% relaxation. This percentage depends on the college the student is applying to.
  • The candidate must have opted for the science stream (medical or non-medical subjects) and have studied subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology and/ or Mathematics compulsorily at the +2 level.
  • The candidate must have appeared for the required entrance exam as per the preference of the state or the institution.
  • Adherence to any other criteria listed down by the college or university the student is applying to is mandatory to secure admission into B Pharm Course.
