Dr. Poonam Sharma is an Assistant Professor at Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. She has been awarded B. Pharm., M. Pharm. (Pharmacology), and Ph.D. (Pharmaceutical Sciences) degrees from Amity University Uttar Pradesh. During her Bachelor's, she was awarded the “All Rounder Student of the Batch Award,” while in her Master's, she was awarded with “Shree Baljit Shastri Award for Best in Human & Traditional Values.” Additionally, she was the Gold medalist, securing First position in academics during her Master’s education. She has also received the Academic Excellence Award from Kanyakubj Samaj Samiti, Faridabad for four consecutive years (2010-2013).

Dr. Poonam Sharma has worked as Junior Research Fellow under the project “Establishment of Pharmacological Basis of Saraswat Ghrita for Benefits in Cognitive Diseases,” sponsored by the “All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA)—An Autonomous Organization under the Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India.” She has successfully completed two Industry-funded projects (Dr. Willmar Schwabe India Pvt. Ltd.”) on osteoarthritis and urinary tract infection using respective animal models. She has hands-on experience in animal handling (mice and rats), tissue sampling, and various laboratory equipment. To date, she has worked on animal experimental models of cerebral ischemia-reperfusion brain injury, conditioning phenomenon, vascular dementia, Alzheimer’s, autism, stress, diabetes, osteoarthritis, and urinary tract infection under several Government, Industry, and University-funded projects. These projects include assessment of various behavioral (spatial learning, memory, active and passive learning, motor coordination, neurological severity score, social behavior etc.), biochemical (protein and RNA assessments in blood serum, plasma, and tissue homogenate), and histopathological parameters.

Further, she has published various research, review papers, and book chapters in several international scientific journals (SCOPUS) of high-impact factors. Her research papers are published in Elsevier, Springer, De Gruyter, Taylor & Francis, and Bentham journals. She has presented her research findings at various national and international conferences, demonstrating her strong research, analysis, presentation, and communication skills. She is proficient in English (C1 level), Hindi (native), and French (B1 level).
