The World Pharmacists Day & Pharmacovigilance week was celebrated at Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology (Pharm.), Knowledge Park-2, Greater Noida, It provides a vital platform to recognize the indispensable role of pharmacists in healthcare. In honor of this occasion, Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology (Pharm.) in association with Kailash Hospital ,Greater Noida organized a Health Check-up Camp in the campus under the theme “Pharmacists: Meeting global health needs” highlighting the invaluable contribution of pharmacists to the healthcare ecosystem.

The event offered a range of essential health screening services. These included blood pressure checks, blood glucose tests for diabetes Management, BMI measurements for weight-related health insights, vision and eye health screenings to promote oral health, and hemoglobin tests to assess overall health status. After the tests, the doctors provided valuable advice and information on medications. This initiative gave participants an opportunity to monitor their health and raise awareness about their well-being.

The event witnessed significant participation from the community, with approximately 150 individuals, including students, faculty members, and staff, taking advantage of the health check-up facilities.

The success of this initiative was made possible by the dedicated team of doctors, staff nurses, and clinical staff from Kailash Hospital, who generously contributed their time and expertise. To express their appreciation for the team's efforts, certificates of appreciation were presented as a token of gratitude.

On this occasion, Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi, Group Director, emphasized that new diseases have emerged due to irregular lifestyles, and there is a need for research and the discovery of new drugs to combat these challenges. Dr. Sethi further encouraged pharmacy students to gain deeper knowledge of the latest global advancements in the pharmaceutical industry.

In addition to the health camp, a Poster and Slogan Writing Competition was held in line with the World Pharmacist Day and Pharmacovigilance week. The competition was based on themes, “Pharmacists: Meeting global health needs” and Building ADR Reporting culture for Patient Safety. Nearly 100 students from B.Pharm and M. Pharm programs participated in the competitions. The winners were as follows:

Slogan Writing Competition:

First Prize: Priya Kumari (3rd year)

Second Prize: Yash Mishra, Vivek Dubey (1st year)

Third Prize: Niyati (1st year); Anya (2nd year)

The students thoroughly enjoyed the event and showcased their talents throughout the day.
