World Mental Health Day (Workshop on Mental Well-being)

Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology (Pharm.) College, Knowledge Park-2.Greater Noida, in collaboration with WellM (Wellness Mandala Pvt Ltd), organized an impactful workshop on the occasion of World Mental Health Day on, 10th October, 2023 (Tuesday) under the theme "Mental Health is a Universal Human Right." The workshop commenced with a serene Sarasvati Vandana and a lamp lighting ceremony, signifying the illumination of minds and the journey towards improved mental health. The event unfolded with a thought-provoking skit (Title: Invisible battles: Confronting Mental health Issues) performance presented by B.Pharm and M. Pharm students. This performance sensitively portrayed real-life scenarios related to mental health, including stress, anxiety, Peer pressure in young minds, depression, Dementia in elderly people and the significance of seeking help. The heartening message conveyed was that mental health concerns affect individuals from all walks of life.

In the Inaugural speech, Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi, the Group Director and Chief Strategist of Growth at Lloyd Group of Institutions, delivered an insightful and compassionate message that resonated with the spirit of the day. Dr. Sethi highlighted the importance of acknowledging mental health as an essential aspect of our lives and, indeed, a universal human right. She emphasized the significance of mental well-being, recognizing that it impacts every individual regardless of age, gender, or background. Dr. Sethi's words inspired individuals to take proactive steps in looking after their mental health and fostering a supportive environment where the well-being of every person is valued and protected.

The workshop encompassed various segments designed to educate and empower the attendees. An ice-breaking game was employed to foster a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere, encouraging participants to engage openly. The session on "Understanding Stress and Anxiety" shed light on the factors contributing to these emotions, facilitating better comprehension. Practical strategies and coping mechanisms were shared during the "Tools and Techniques for Managing Stress and Anxiety" segment, equipping the participants with valuable skills.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the "Art Therapy Workshop," which harnessed the therapeutic power of artistic expression for emotional healing and self-discovery. Participants were encouraged to channel their emotions and thoughts through creative means. In addition, the workshop offered "DIY Tips for Enhancing and Maintaining Health and Happiness," providing practical, everyday methods for promoting mental well-being.

The inauguration of the event by the Group Director and Chief Strategist of Growth at Lloyd reinforced the institution's commitment to prioritizing the mental well-being of its students. He emphasized the significance of mental health, acknowledging it as a universal human right, and commended the collaboration with WellM for promoting this cause.

The target audience for this enriching workshop consisted of B.Pharm and PGDM students. The content was thoughtfully tailored to address the unique challenges and concerns that these students may face during their academic journeys.

In sum, the workshop was a resounding success, creating awareness and fostering a supportive environment for mental well-being.
