Lloyd Institute of Management & Technology (Pharm.), Greater Noida successfully conducted an International Conference on "Contemporary Issues in Management & Pharmaceutical Sciences-2023" on 18th March, 2023 at Lloyd Campus. The theme of the conference was “Technology Driven Strategies for Business Transformation in Pharma Sector

The program commenced at 10.00 am, following a warm-up Tea, with a grand inaugural chaired by eminent personalities- Prof. Ramesh K. Goyal (Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University-DPSRU, New Delhi), Mr. Ajay Adlakha (Founder & MD, Infinity Advertising Services), Mr.Yashpal Sharma (Managing Director, Skyways Group), Dr. Manish Diwan (Head - Strategic Partnership & Entrepreneurship Development, BIRAC), Mr. Atantra Das Gupta (South West Asia Head - Samsung), Mr. Rakesh Sarin (Founder, Chairman, WellM ) and other eminent personalities from academia and industry who graced the occasion off the dias: Mr. Mayank Chatwal, Mr. Alaknanda Mishra, Mr. Kritesh Singh Bhatia, Ms. Priya Mishra, Dr. Rajeev Tyagi, Mr. Ravi Rathura, Mr. Rohan Sudan, Mr. Sanjay Rajpal, Sanjay Trehan, Ms. Shreya Deepam, Mr. Shonik Goyal, Mr. Shubham Saxena, Mr. Sugadh Chaterjee, Mr. Suhail Rohit Singh, Mr. Surendra Kumar Kamal. The program began with auspicious lamp lightening by the dignitaries and Saraswati Vandana to evoke the blessings of the Goddess of learning.

Prof. Vandana Arora Sethi, Chief Strategy Officer, Lloyd extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and the delegates, on behalf of Lloyd Institute, in her welcome address. She emphasized that in the current era of mass layoffs, professionals need to adopt new technologies if one has to ensure the longevity of Jobs. She quoted that the only thing that is constant is “Change”. For the students, she stressed upon making the right choices and not always the easy way out whenever a decision is to be made.  

Mr. Ajay Adlakha (Founder & MD, Infinity Advertising Services), in his address said that every individual is a brand in himself and to build and sell themselves they should focus on nurturing their soul and senses.

 Mr. Yashpal Sharma (Managing Director, Skyways Group) stated that business transformations are inbuilt and the key to achievement of these goals is defining the target, acquiring knowledge and finding a mentor. It does not matter even if the beginning is slow perseverance and discipline are likely to take one through.

Mr. Atantra Das Gupta (South West Asia Head - Samsung) said that one has to be a lifelong learner in order to sustain in the professional world and transformations are always inspired from nature. Technology is metamorphosis of human efforts and human brains.

Mr. Rakesh Sarin (Founder, Chairman, WellM) emphasized that opportunities are expanding and youngsters are most apt to grab them .In order to succeed ones perception of self, relational wellbeing, future outlook and strength to give must be at the right corner. Not only physical fitness   and IQ but the Emotional wellbeing is extremely important in today’s world.

This was followed by award ceremony: Prof. Devender Pathak (Dean Rajeev Academy) was conferred Distinguished Guest award. Whereas seven exemplary pharmacy professional awards were given away to contributors for betterment of profession: Prof. Kamla Pathak, Prof. Vidhu Aeri, Prof. Sanju Nanda, Dr. Saurav Arora, Dr. Surendra Lalwani, Dr. Saroj Jain and Dr. Gaurav Jain. Prof (Dr.) Ramesh Kumar Goyal was confired with “Life Time Achievement Award”.

Prof. Goyal in his acceptance speech said that he was glad to receive the honor and no doubt Lloyd is a progressive institute. Also that after industry 4.0 the 5Th industrial revolution is about the humanization of Industry 4.0.

This was followed by the most awaited Exchange of MoU, signed earlier in the day, between Multani Pharmaceuticals Ltd and Lloyd Institute.

The key highlight of the Conference were two important Panel Discussions in alignment with the theme of the conference. First Panel Discussion was on the topic “New Age Technology enabled Business or Opportunities for Entrepreneurs”. The panel was deliberated upon by experts viz. Mr. Ayush Jain (Founder, Xane AI), Ms. Alakananda Misra (AVP-HR, Genpact), Mr. Sanjay Rajpal (Country Head, Ypsomed India Private Ltd.), Mr. Shonik Goyal (President & Head SCM, Sheela Foam Limited), Mr. Sachin K. Sheoran (Founder and MD, HBF Direct Ltd.), Mr. Shubham Saxena (International Marketing Manager, Aimil Global Ltd.) and was moderated by Mr. Mayank Chhatwal (Secretary, PHDCCI). The second  Panel discussion entitled “Emerging Skill Sets in the World of Disruptive Technologies” was moderated by Mr. Ravi Rathod (Joint secretary, PHDCCI) and deliberated upon by the panelists Mr. Pritesh Bhatia (Associate Director, HR, Jubilant Biosys), Ms. Priya Mishra (Dy General Manager HR, Apollo Pharmacies Pvt. Ltd.), Dr. Rajiv Tyagi (Senior People Manager, Mace), Mr. Shrey Deepum (Marketing Strategist, Google), Mr. Sanjay Kumar (Executive Director, Multani Pharmaceuticals), Mr. Suhel Rohit Singh (Communications Manager Corporate, BAYER), Mr. Surender Kumar Kamal (Lead Global Regulatory and Scientific Affairs, Hindustan Unilever Limited) and was moderated by Dr. Ravi Rathod (Joint secretary, PHDCCI).

Both the panel discussions were appreciated by the audience and provoked questions and discussions about technology, business, emerging skill sets and most importantly opportunities for entrepreneurs.

The Scientific sessions at the Conference featured Poster Presentations on following tracks: Education and Research, Pharmaceutical Industry and Management and Pharma Digital transformations. 131 abstracts were received and were compiled into a Souvenir-Cum-Abstract Book. The posters presentation was evaluated by esteemed guests: Prof. Mohd. Mujeeb (Head, Dept. of Pharmacognosy and Phytochemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi), Prof. Anna Bala (Director, IIMT College of Pharmacy, Greater Noida ), Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Jain (Professor cum Dean, IIMT College of Pharmacy), Prof. Hema Chaudhary (Dean, School of Medical and Allied Sciences K R Mangalam University), Dr. Ritu Kataria (Principal, GVM College of Pharmacy), Dr. Sameer Rastogi (Professor cum Principal, HIMT College of Pharmacy), Dr. Ozair Alam (Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, School of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, Jamia Hamdard), Dr. Jitendra Gupta (Associate Professor, Institute of Pharmaceutical Research, GLA University), Dr. Reena Gupta (Associate Professor, Institute of Pharmaceutical Research, GLA University), Mr. Keshav Kumar (Senior Manager- Regulatory Affairs, Hamdard Laboratories India ) and prizes given away for best posters during the valedictory.

1st prize was bagged by Ritu Tiwari from Indian Pharmacopeia Commission. 2nd prize and 3rd prize were received respectively by Imlisengla Kichu (LIMT), Sagar Dangi (Smt Vidyawati College, Jhansi) and Shivakant Kumar (Mangalayatan University) and Annu Sharma (GVM College of Pharmacy). Additionally, consolation prizes were given to Yash Kumar Gaur (Rajiv Academy of Pharmacy) and Richa Sharma (GLA University)

All together the International Conference met the expectations of providing networking opportunities between various stakeholders, promoting knowledge exchange and helped in understanding the key technological developments in the sector. Students truly looked forward to the next league of the Series.
