The Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology, Greater Noida proudly organized an International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2024, as part of the week-long Yoga Mahotsav Celebration. This event, held in the Yoga Studio on our campus, brought together students and faculty to participate in a day dedicated to the practice and principles of yoga. The theme for the day, "Find Your Balance On and Off the Mat," was chosen to emphasize the significance of achieving equilibrium in all aspects of life.


The Yoga Day event commenced at 9:00 AM with an opening ceremony. The ceremony included an introduction to the day's activities and a brief speech highlighting the importance of yoga in fostering physical and mental well-being. The event was graced by our esteemed yoga trainer, Mr. Abhishek Pachauri, whose expertise and guidance were instrumental in the success of the day.


Students and faculty members from various departments actively participated in the Yoga Day activities. The event saw a diverse group of participants, reflecting the widespread interest and commitment to promoting a healthy and balanced lifestyle within our campus community. The total number of participants was approximately 216, including both students and faculty.


The morning session began with a traditional yoga practice led by Mr. Abhishek Pachauri. This session included:

1. Warm-Up Exercises: Pachauri guided participants through a series of gentle warm-up exercises to prepare their bodies for the yoga session. These exercises focused on enhancing flexibility and reducing the risk of injury.

2. Asanas (Postures): The core of the morning session involved practicing various yoga asanas. Mr. Pachauri demonstrated each posture, providing detailed instructions on proper alignment and breathing techniques. Participants practiced a range of asanas, including:

  • Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation): A sequence of twelve powerful yoga poses that invigorate the body and mind.
  • Tadasana (Mountain Pose): A foundational standing pose that promotes balance and stability.
  • Vrikshasana (Tree Pose): A balancing posture that enhances concentration and mental clarity.
  • Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose): A gentle backbend that strengthens the spine and opens the chest.
  • Shavasana (Corpse Pose): A relaxation pose that allows the body to integrate the benefits of the practice.

3. Pranayama (Breathing Exercises): Following the asanas, Mr. Pachauri introduced participants to pranayama techniques. These breathing exercises, such as Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) and Kapalabhati (Skull Shining Breath), are known for their calming and energizing effects.

4. Meditation: The morning session concluded with a guided meditation, encouraging participants to cultivate mindfulness and inner peace. Mr. Pachauri soothing voice and expert guidance facilitated a deep meditative experience for all attendees.


After the morning session, participants were provided with a healthy breakfast consisting of fresh fruits, nuts, and herbal teas. This break allowed participants to rejuvenate and engage in informal discussions about their yoga practice and experiences.


The afternoon session featured a series of workshops and interactive activities designed to deepen participants' understanding of yoga and its applications in daily life.

1. Workshop on Yoga Philosophy: Pachauri conducted a workshop on the philosophy of yoga, exploring its historical roots and underlying principles. He emphasized the holistic nature of yoga, which encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual dimensions.

2. Interactive Q&A Session: Participants had the opportunity to engage with Mr. Pachauri in an interactive Q&A session. This session allowed them to ask questions about specific aspects of yoga practice, seek advice on personal challenges, and gain insights into incorporating yoga into their daily routines.
