AICTE Sponsored Two Weeks Online Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Exploration of Nascent Pedagogical Tools for Updating Teachers of Pharmacy Education.” was hosted by Lloyd Institute of Management and Technology (Pharm.). This second phase of the online FDP is scheduled for two weeks starting from January 4th, 2021 to January 16th, 2021, from 1:00-4:00 pm India onwards (every day). Lloyd received a total of 376 registrations across the country, out of which 153 participants from 70 different colleges, like Guru Jambheshwar University & MM College of Pharmacy from Haryana, Allana College from Maharashtra, Anurag University from Telangana, and many more from 16 different states like Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Punjab, Telangana, etc were selected.
The Guests of Honor for the FDP Inaugural Session were Prof. Roop Krishen Khar , Professor & Principal, B. S. Anangpuria Institute of Pharmacy, Faridabad & Dr. Madhukar Maruti Waware , Deputy Director, e-Governance Cell, AICTE, New Delhi. With a warm welcome note, Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi, Group Director, Lloyd Group of Institutions started the event. Later, the day followed with a session focusing on various plethoric topics such as “Present pedagogy & its challenges” by Mr. Swapnil Soni , Department Management Studies, Indian Institute of Science Bengaluru & “Outcome Based Education” by Prof. Bhupender Kumar Som , Director, Lloyd Business School, Greater Noida.
The basic objective of this FDP session was to acquaint an update to the faculty members, research scholars, and academicians with the various pedagogical tools for the effective teaching process enabling a better outcome. The second phase of FDP featured 27 technical sessions extended for 34 hours that were conducted by 16 different speakers around the globe. The sessions were skillfully amalgamated between the talks from academicians, pedagogical experts, pioneers from leading industries & government agencies to ensure the attainment of the objective.
The event’s major highlights were the plethoric sessions that were conducted by globally renowned faculties like Dr. Mona Semalty & Dr. Ajay Semalty , University SWAYAM Coordinator, HNB Garhwal (Central) University, Uttarakhand; Prof. Vandana B. Patravale , Deemed University, Maharashtra; Prof. Csoka Ildiko, Director, Institute of Pharmaceutical Technology and Regulatory Affairs, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Szeged; Dr. Shivkanya Fuloria , AIMST University, Malaysia; Prof. Bhupender Kumar Som , Director, Lloyd Business School, Greater Noida and many more.
The Valedictory Session was chaired by Dr. B. Suresh , President, Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), Pro Chancellor, JSS Academy of Higher Education & Research, Mysore.
Dr. B. Suresh emphasized on “Change and how it is very important for any civilization, organization and also the life forms to survive and carry forward its legacy”. He talked about the Leadership Team and Governance where strong leaderships plays a vital role along with right team, good governance, great vision, realistic goals & doable plan. Lastly, he concluded saying that “organization are shadows of their leaders.”
Altogether, it was extensive, eye-opening, and interesting sessions for faculties, research scholars, and academicians that will certainly help them to enhance their skills & to imbibe these nascent pedagogical tools besides upgrading the regular conventional teaching methods.
