Pharmacology refers to the study of the biological action of drugs on human and animals. This includes the study of biological and therapeutic effect of drugs derived from synthetic and natural sources, estimation of minimum effective dose (concentration), estimation of maximum tolerable dose, assessment of adverse drug reactions and drug-toxicity profile.

These include models for CNS activity, CVS activity and behavioral responses. The department have two labs i.e. pharmacology lab and a human anatomy and physiology lab. The human anatomy and physiology lab provides models for human skeleton, human sense organs like eye and ear, heart, GIT are available. In recent years, India has become an international center for clinical trials.
